Derby Day!

I wasn't fortunate enough to go to the actual Kentucky Derby, but that wouldn't stop my friends and I from having a good time while dressed for the occasion. KK and I adorned some floppy hats we bought at Marshalls (temporarily - I mean they were Ralph Lauren), threw on a favorite sundress, and baked up an appetizer. 

I of course was rooting for Mucho Macho Man.

Today, I thought I'd just write a quick post boasting one of my favorite style blogs. If you watch the Today Show, you may be familiar with Bobbie's Buzz. I started watching the 4th hour while getting ready for my 1st job out college where I worked late hours (I love Hoda - I'll explain why another time) while getting ready for the day. It didn't take long for me to look forward to Bobbies Thomas's segments. She's young and professional and kinda funny at times. She always has something new and timely to talk about - hence "buzz".

Now that I work more normal hours, I can keep up with her great finds and style advice on her blog -- bobbie.com

One final thing- she usually presents trends/styles in a way anyone could try. She usually finds the designer option and an everyday option to try out a style. Sometimes its a great find at H&M, sometimes its DIY.

Loving Navy Right Now

Apparently, so were the stars on the red carpet. Red carpet style is really the only thing I look at (the morning after an awards ceremony). I like seeing who rocked it, and equally as much, who really didn’t.

I was hoping to wear this lovely dress to a wedding the 1st week of October, but it’s sold out! I’m now on the hunt for a different navy dress - to wear with some neutral pumps or booties.

This dress is from www.modcloth.com for less than $50!! i was really excited to try this site out for their seemingly great prices and return/exchange policies. Maybe something esle will come out that I like before the big day!
